The M23 has finally
reopened after it was closed in both directions for hours earlier today, but motorists have been warned to expect delays throughout rush hour.
The busy motorway was shut this morning to allow UK Power Networks engineers to repair a damaged overhead power line after it came crashing down onto the southbound carriageway.
The road was closed northbound between J10 (Crawley)and J8 (M25), and southbound between J8 and J9 (Gatwick) for "safety reasons".
