PARAMEDICS were called in after an elderly woman suffered suspected smoke inhalation when a fire broke out in her Bletchingley kitchen.
It is thought food caught fire in the oven of the 86-year-old's home in Overdale at about 7.45pm last night (Saturday).
Fire crews from Godstone and Reigate were called and two firefighters used breathing apparatus, and one hose reel, to extinguish the flames.
Fire damage was confined to the kitchen but the rest of the house was filled with smoke.
