The River Mole is well within its banks this evening but the Environment Agency has issued a yellow flood alert as the heavy rain which fell today is expected to swell the river later tonight and tomorrow (Saturday).
It covers the Mole in parts of Horley, Sidlow, Brockham Betchworth, Dorking, Pixham, and Leatherhead as well as Cobham.
Gales are thrashing Surrey tonight, bringing down trees, halting trains and causing power cuts in rural areas...
