REPORTS of plumes of smoke in Whyteleafe this morning were from a skip fire.
Residents noticed the white smoke at around 6am near to the parade of shops on Wellesley Parade, Godstone Road, Whyteleafe.
The fire, which is believed to have been in a skip, took place in the yard behind 1st Glass Windows Ltd, but the store was not damaged and is open as normal.
Firefighters from Oxted attended the scene.
