FIREFIGHTERS saved a family home from destruction after the roof caught fire.
Crews from Horley, Dorking and Reigate were called to Partridge Lane, between Newdigate and Charlwood, at 8.40am this morning.
Firefighter William Rowley, from Reigate Fire Station, said: "The flue on the log burner had got too hot, and the insulation caught fire and spread across the roof."We had a salvage plan because they had some expensive goods in the property. They had expensive shoes, we saved them...
