Firefighters from Godstone Fire Station were called out last night (September 6) after a bonfire which had been burning for days at a wake near Redhill grew when it was left unattended. The crew rushed to the scene of the blaze, in a field off Coneybury, in Bletchingley, at 7.30pm after a member of the public alerted 999 to the increasing size of the fire.
